The engineering division of the Yemeni army announced removing around 3,000 mines and explosive devices that were planted by the Houthi militia in several areas in Mandaba districts in Baqem directorate in Saada. Head of the division First Lieutenant Sultan Shamsan said in a statement on Sunday that the militia has planted this large amount of mines in a small area estimated at 10 kilometers. The militia intentionally plants mines in order to impede the government forces’ rapid progress while dozens of mines remain a real threat to the life of civilians. On the other hand, the air defenses of the pro-legitimacy Saudi-led coalition in Yemen destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by Houthi insurgents on Sunday towards Mokha before reaching their target. As confrontations by Yemeni army forces against Houthi militias continued on the Taiz and Lahj fronts, coalition fighters destroyed militia reinforcements in Sarawah, west of Marib. The government forces foiled the attack with the support of the Saudi-led coalition’s air forces, official sources confirmed, killing at least 60 rebels, wounding dozens and capturing several others in conjunction with the destruction of Houthi military vehicles. The group continues, according to residents in the province of Hodeidah, the campaign of forced recruitment and the suppression of opponents of the campaign by putting them in detention, which reflects the growing fears of the leaders of the militia as the Yemeni army approaches the city of Hodeidah. Coalition fighters destroyed a militia gathering in the district of Sarawah, western Marib province. The Yemeni army confirmed that the air strikes destroyed armed vehicles and rocket-propelled grenades by rebels in Helan Mount. In Taiz fronts, government forces foiled a Houthi attack on the Khalid bin al-Waleed camp in conjunction with fierce confrontations with the militias in the western countryside of Taiz.
