Saudi Arabias Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan affirmed that the Kingdoms strong stimulus packages to the private sector will have a positive impact on the countrys economy, pointing out that revenues of small and medium enterprises during the past year witnessed positive growth rates. Jadaan said on Wednesday that the Kingdoms reforms in the light of the 2030 vision are aimed at creating strong economic growth, empowering the economy and increasing its strength and vitality. “Economic diversification is one of the most important goals of the Kingdoms 2030 vision,” said Jadaan, who spoke in Riyadh during an open meeting organized by the Saudi Economic Association. “This ambitious national vision will result in creating suitable jobs for citizens and stimulating the private sector.” “Kingdom Vision 2030 is a comprehensive structural reform, and these reforms will result in strong, sustainable and comprehensive economic growth at the same time,” Jadaan said. During his speech to a group of economists and businessmen, Jadaan stressed the strength and vitality of the Saudi economy. He pointed out that the revenues of small and medium enterprises jumped some 9 and 14 percent in the past year alone. The Saudi Finance Minister attributed the decline in the national general budget deficit in 2017 to the effectiveness of the new national initiatives, in addition to the increase in the volume of non-oil exports at the same time. “We are aware that measures taken during the last two years have been both important and desirable, in order to lay a solid foundation for launching programs and initiatives of Kingdom Vision 2030,” he said. “The budget for the current year 2018 demonstrates the expansion of government policy, which effectively balances the budget between strengthening the financial situation of the country on the one hand, and working to stimulate economic growth on the other.” Economy and Planning Undersecretary Abdul Aziz Al-Rasheed said during the open meeting that expatriate labor fees were not imposed in order to allow financial returns to the state, which is a part of structural reforms.
