The US embassy in Montenegros capital Podgorica has confirmed that no one was injured when an assailant threw an explosive device into the compound and then blew himself up, as police said they were working to identify the attacker. The embassy said Thursday on its Facebook and Twitter accounts that "all Mission personnel are safe and accounted for following the incident early this morning." The mission said it had canceled all visa services for Thursday, adding that access for US citizens "will be available today on an emergency basis". Police said the man hurled an apparent bomb into the embassy yard before killing himself with another one around midnight Wednesday. They are "working intensely" to identify an assailant, the police statement said. The blast created a crater but caused no other material damage to the embassy property, it added. The heavily-secured US embassy building is located on the outskirts of Podgoricas city center, near the secret police headquarters and the Moraca river.
