Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) signed Monday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Electricity Company. This move aims at exchanging experiences in the field of building institutional excellence and implementing programs related to the improvement and development of the innovative environment. Deputy Governor for Strategy at SAGIA Ahmed al-Arab affirmed the importance of developing and investing in the employees’ capabilities, which reflects positively on the performance and quality of the work, and this is what SAGIA have sought to achieve through this memorandum of understanding. He pointed out that the institutional excellence of the government bodies and agencies is used to achieve the needs desired by the employees currently, in addition to future aspirations, while maintaining the continuity and sustainability of this excellence. Arab said that the memorandum of understanding will include a number of courses and workshops in which the participants from SAGIA and the electricity company to build human capacities in the Center of Excellence, which will be established by SAGIA soon. He praised the interest of most government agencies in adopting programs aimed at encouraging employees to achieve high levels of excellence, through taking care of the quality management and institutional excellence. For his part, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at the Saudi Electricity Company Abdulrahman bin Mohammed al-Obaid said that this memorandum of understanding comes within the framework of the Kingdom Vision 2030 so that Saudi Arabia becomes a global standard for quality and proficiency through the products and services it provides. Obaid said that both sides have advanced interests in the field of institutional excellence and innovation as a methodology and application. The memorandum of understanding will include cooperation in applying institutional excellence and internal evaluation, which will give both parties the chance to receive a certificate of commitment to excellence from the European Foundation for Quality Management.
