UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received a letter from the Kuwaiti Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on strong fraternal relations between both countries. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received the letter when meeting at Al Bahr Palace the Kuwaiti Emir’s envoy, Deputy Minister of Emiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah. The envoy and Sheikh Mohamed discussed fraternal relations and ways to enhance them in all fields in the best interest of the two sides and in light of strong historic ties and cooperation between the two countries. Separately, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed received Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), who is currently visiting the country to attend The Conference of Tolerance, Moderation and Dialogue in Countering Extremism, at Al Bahr Palace on Monday. Earlier Monday, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, chaired a meeting of the interior ministers of the International Security Alliance’s member states. The alliance includes the UAE, France, Italy, Spain, Senegal, Bahrain and Morocco, as well as Singapore, which officially joined the grouping on Monday The meeting held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, ADNEC, was attended by Lt. General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior of Bahrain, Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam, Minister for Home Affairs and Law of Singapore, and Mamodo Diyub, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior of Senegal, as well as representatives of the interior ministers of the Alliance’s member countries, security and police officials, and several Ministry of Interior officials. The participants were briefed on the Alliance’s developments in 2017 and approved several projects presented by its technical team, which promote cooperation, establish relations in the area of electronic protection, and strengthen their proactive efforts to counter extremism and international terrorism.
