LONDON: A fourth woman has filed a rape complaint against prominent Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan. The complaint was filed in Washington D.C. Ramadan has been held since last month on preliminary rape charges in France following allegations by three women. The French newspaper Liberation said the latest complaint was filed with Washington police in mid-February. Rabia Chaudry, a US lawyer, said: “I have today reported to the federal prosecutor the case of a fourth victim of Ramadan.” Chaudry said the allegation “is not part of an international plot to get Ramadan.” The alleged incident took place in August 2013, when Ramadan was visiting Washington. Ramadan’s lawyers declined to comment.
