Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, will embark on Monday on an official trip to the United States where he will meet President Donald Trump and senior officials from his administration in Washington. He is also expected to make important stops in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston, reported Bloomberg. This marks Prince Mohammed’s first trip to the US since becoming Crown Prince. He plans to meet top global executives, including the heads of Apple Inc., Google and top movie industry executives. A spokesman at the Saudi Embassy in Washington refused to confirm the trip’s itinerary, saying that an official announcement will be made at a later date. The Crown Prince will use the trip to promote investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia. The US visit comes fresh off the heels of a successful visit he paid to Britain where a number of investment agreements, worth 91 billion dollars, were signed. Included in the agreements was a memorandum of intent by Saudi Arabia to BAE Systems Plc’s Eurofighter, reviving prospects for a long-delayed purchase of 48 jets. The deal could be valued at more than 8 billion pounds before discounts, reported Bloomberg. Trump has moved to strengthen US ties with the Kingdom since taking office in January 2017. Saudi Arabia was the first foreign country Trump visited after taking office, traveling to the Kingdom in May.
