WIL Economic Forum Discusses Role of Banks in Financing Womens Projects

Women in Leadership Economic Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, called for increasing the role of banks and financial institutions in empowering women, financing their projects and leading Saudi businesswomen, as well as reviewing legislation to create a healthy economic environment for women. The discussions of the first day of the Forum focused on the role of the public and private sectors in allocating a budget to provide theoretical and practical training for women to provide them with the required expertise in the field of work. The Forum also reviewed successful local experiences in this field. In addition, the talks discussed the role of banks and financial institutions in the economic empowerment of women through financing womens projects and Saudi women entrepreneurs. It also reiterated the importance of revising the related legislation and laws to ensure the creation of an economic environment in which women participate in the world of entrepreneurship alongside men. Vice President of Human Resources at STC Ahmad al-Ghamdi discussed the importance of diversity in the workplace describing it as "the key to driving innovation and excellence in business." He explained that STC had recognized the importance of this issue and developed an initiative where the company employed a lot of women in various job categories, reiterating that it will continue its efforts to integrate more women into the workforce. The Forum aims to promote the Saudi economy in a sustainable manner by empowering women and the young generation and reinvigorating their role in the business sector, which is one of the strongest factors to stimulate the economy and raise the competitiveness among countries. In its first-ever business forum for women, Saudi Arabia launched the Women in Leadership Economic Forum, called "Lets Talk About Tomorrow," which aims to showcase the Kingdoms foremost female business leaders and demonstrate the important role of women in driving the future of its economy. The two-day event, organized in collaboration with Saudi Aramco and hosted in Riyadh, was attended by more than 900 business leaders and entrepreneurs, decision-makers, non-governmental organizations and youth representatives. The forum also included the participation of high-level delegates from public figures and business leaders from within and outside Saudi Arabia to discuss five key issues: innovation, localization, diversity, integration, and entrepreneurship. The Forum includes a series of lectures, interactive dialogues and a series of workshops, all of which aim to empower the attendees. The Womens Economic Leadership Forum is also sponsored by a number of private companies in the region, which participate in the forum through its experiences in terms of diversification and integration in the field of work.
