Yemeni Army Liberates Strategic Camp from Militias

Yemeni legitimate forces liberated “Taibat al-Esem” strategic camp after fierce clashes that lasted for a whole week in the district of Bart al-Anan of al-Jouf province in northern Yemen. The camp is one of the insurgents’ most important military locations and is located between the provinces of al-Jawf and Saada, a Houthi stronghold. The militias used the camp as an assembly point for their fighters, from where they deployed to frontlines. Dozens of militia members were killed, injured and captured during the liberation battle, in which army also recaptured a great deal of weapons and ammunition, according to military sources reported by September.net website. The liberation of the camp also enabled the army forces to cut off militias’ supply lines that were coming from “Dohrah” region and “Wadi al-Qaeef”, situated between Jouf and Saada. Commander of the first brigade of the Yemeni National Armys border guards Brigadier General Heikal Hantaf was quoted by Al-Arabiya channel as saying that more than 70 insurgents were killed. In addition, several important surveillance points were targeted, after destructing reinforcements and military vehicles belonging to Houthis. In his turn, during a phone call with Brig-Gen Hantaf, Yemeni Vice President Lieutenant General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar lauded the victories achieved by the forces and discussed latest developments. Meanwhile, army website reported the death of at least 13 Houthi militants and the injury of 20 others on Saturday during heavy battles with the national army forces in Makbanah district, west Taiz. The battles began after militias tried to infiltrate into army positions in Adnah, al-Afeerah and Kahban south of Makbanah. In Baidah governorate, over 30 Houthi militants were killed and injured in fierce battles with the National Army forces, according to SeptemberNet. The website reported that fierce clashes erupted between the national army forces supported by popular resistance on the one hand, and Houthis on the other, in the areas between the districts of Natae and al-Malajem. The clashes resulted in the death of over 14 Houthis and injury of 17 others. In other news, Acting Minister of Defense and the President Adviser for Military Affairs Lieutenant General Mohammad al-Maqdashi, ordered the payment of salaries of units and fighters on the fronts as well as the families of the martyrs and the wounded soldiers. Maqdishi also said that salaries should be delivered to fighters in accordance with mechanisms and procedures to ensure their regular and orderly access. During his meeting with officials of the financial department of the Ministry of Defense, Maqdishi stressed the importance of compliance with regulations to prevent the occurrence of any imbalances and deal firmly with any manipulations, according to Saba news agency.
