DUBAI: Saudi social media star and fashion designer Tamara Al-Gabbani has released two stunning images from her new campaign with Italian high-end design house Dolce & Gabbana. The blogger modeled in Dubai’s Old Souk and wore a long-length dress printed with clutches of white flowers — one of Dolce & Gabbana’s most recognizable prints. In the second photograph, Al-Gabbani is pictured wearing an over-sized pair of statement sunglasses, complete with golden cherubs on the corners, which she dubbed “the most beautiful statement shades that have ever existed.” Dolce & Gabbana has focused in on modest wear and the Middle Eastern market with collections dedicated to the modern Muslim woman, including designer abayas and long-length dresses. Modest fashion is gaining mainstream interest across the board, with several retailers and brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Uniqlo and Burberry entering the industry. As the sector gains traction, spend on clothing and apparel from Muslims is projected to reach $368 billion by 2021.
