Aide to the Arab League Secretary General, Hussam Zaki, revealed that he will carry out consultations in Saudi Arabia ahead of its hosting of the organization’s summit on April 15. He hailed to Asharq Al-Awsat the special preparations that are being made by the Kingdom to host the summit. Zaki had arrived in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. Asharq Al-Awsat learned that the summit, held in Dhahran, will be preceded by preparatory meetings on April 9. The three-day talks will be attended by senior figures, representatives and economy and foreign ministers. April 14 will witness the arrival of kings, leaders and heads of Arab countries to the Kingdom. Diplomatic sources revealed that senior figures will be attending the summit due to the excellent ties Saudi Arabia shares with Arab countries, as well as the international clout it enjoys. The Palestinian-Israeli conflict, situation in Jerusalem, crises in Syria, Yemen and Libya, counter-terrorism, regional meddling and the dispute with Qatar will top the agenda of the Arab League summit.
