Thirty-two members of two ISIS cells went on trial in Jordan on Monday on charges of plotting terrorist operations inside the kingdom. The first cell, comprised on 17 defendants, was charged with conspiracy to carry out terrorist acts and promoting terrorist thought. They were also charged with the possession of weapons for their terror plots. The cell was seeking to target a number of locations inside the capital Amman, including a nightclub, intelligence office, a church and the US embassy. The defendants denied the charges. The second cell was charged with conspiracy to commit terrorist acts, possession of arms and promoting terrorist ideology. They plotted to attack an intelligence, police and security forces stations with automatic weapons. The defendants denied the charges against them.
