I want to start rebuilding our nation,” Trump said, having indicated that US troops will leave once the Daesh group is routed. DECODER Syrian war The conflict in Syria has claimed the lives of 500,000 people and force more than 5 million to flee. “Our primary mission in terms of that was getting rid of ISIS. We’ve almost completed that task,” Trump said. “We’ll be making a decision very quickly,” using an another acronym for Daesh. Trump spoke on the phone with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman on Monday evening. The pair discussed regional developments, including the Syrian conflict, Iranian aggression in the region and Houthi actions against the Kingdom.
