Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, is visiting France Sunday on an official visit that will last till Tuesday. The Saudi Crown Prince will be received by French President Emmanuel Macron as the two parties will carry out a round of talks followed by a formal dinner at the Elysee Palace. The visit would be an opportunity to launch a "new strategic partnership" between Saudi Arabia and France, which would mark their future relations. France is Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s fourth stop on his global tour, coming from the United States, where he spent about three weeks; while his fifth stop will be Madrid, where he will arrive to on Thursday. While awaiting the official details of the visit, it is well known that the Crown Prince, along with his meetings with President Macron, will meet Monday with Prime Minister Edouard Philippe at his headquarters, the Matignon Palace, and he will receive the foreign and defense ministers at his residence. The Crown Prince is also expected to visit a Paris-based advanced business incubator for startups called "Station F", hosting the renovated 34,000 square meters of science, technology and industries. HRH will be accompanied by Secretary of State in charge of Digital Affairs Mounir Mahjoubi. Prince Mohammed bin Salman is due to visit the Arab World Institute on Monday evening to launch the renovation of the Institutes "Mashrabiyat" which were renovated with a large Saudi contribution. "I look forward to meeting with the Crown Prince to discuss the possibilities of joint bilateral work," Arab World Institute President Jack Lang told Asharq Al-Awsat. The institute is currently hosting an exhibition on the Suez Canal. On the sidelines of the visit, two economic activities will be held. The first will be held on Monday at the headquarters of French businessmen in the presence of about 300 French and Saudi businessmen, and it comes at the initiative of the French side. While the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry will host Tuesday a second economic conference under the auspices of the Saudi Crown Prince. Both events reflect the interest of the two parties in forging closer economic cooperation and partnerships. However, French official sources said that the visit "is not intended to sign contracts but to build a new strategic partnership based on Frances involvement in working according to the priorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia identified by Vision 2030.”
