Open Paws is Jeddah"s leading dog shelter Their motto is “every dog deserves a home” JEDDAH: Open Paws Jeddah is the leading rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption center for abandoned, lost and unwanted dogs in the city. It was launched in 2012, when the founders noticed a growing number of street dogs, and became aware of a lack of care facilities for them, compared with those available for cats. Dogs have always suffered an unfair stigma in the Kingdom, and workers and volunteers at Open Paws are constantly working to change this distorted perception. Their motto is “every dog deserves a home” and they work toward this by uploading pictures of lost, abandoned and rescued dogs to their Facebook and Instagram pages with details of how they can be retrieved or adopted. All dogs are fed, provided with proper veterinary care and shelter until they are adopted.
