Premier League"s leading scorer missed a golden opportunity in the first half Liverpool remain focused on Champions League glory in the second leg against AS Roma on Wednesday LIVERPOOL: The Premier League’s leading scorer Mohamed Salah had a rare off day as Liverpool labored to a goalless draw against Stoke in their chase for a top four finish. When the Egyptian forward broke clear and dinked the ball over goalkeeper Jack Butland, most of Anfield started to celebrate. So there was a feeling of disbelief when the ball went wide and he was denied a 44th goal of the season in all competitions. It was the first time since December 26 that Salah had started a home match and did not score. It was Liverpool’s third draw in four league games. Jurgen Klopp’s third-place side still require a maximum of four points from their last two matches, including a trip to fifth-place Chelsea, to be sure of Champions League qualification. Liverpool’s priority this season, though, remains securing Champions League glory and protecting a 5-2 lead over Roma as Klopp’s charges head to the Italian capital for the semifinal second leg on Wednesday. For Paul Lambert’s struggling Stoke, the draw did little to help their survival bid as they remain in the relegation zone surrounded by teams with games in hand.
