France, Germany and France agreed Sunday to broaden the nuclear deal with Iran to cover areas such as ballistic missiles, Iran’s destabilizing regional activity, and what happens when the deal expires in 2025. Meanwhile, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani told his French counterpart President Emmanuel Macron that Tehran will not accept any restrictions beyond its commitments. Britain, France and Germany have agreed that the nuclear deal is the best way of stopping Tehran getting nuclear weapons, British Prime Minister Theresa May’s office said in a statement. In this regard, May held separate phone calls with Macaron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the first contact after their return from a visit to Washington. “They committed to continue working closely together and with the US on how to tackle the range of challenges that Iran poses – including those issues that a new deal might cover,” May’s office added in the statement Reuters by reported. German Government spokesman Steffen Seibert said the phone calls were aimed at exchanging information and coordination. “The three reiterated a preference for the United States to remain in the nuclear agreement with Iran,” Seibert said. On the matter, US National Security Advisor, John Bolton said US President Donald Trump has not made up his mind yet in regard of the deal. "Trump has made no decision on the nuclear deal, whether to stay in or get out,"Bolton told Fox News Sunday. Macron returned from a trip to Washington this week to meet with Trump to discuss Iran, among other matters.
