He was received by senior Border Guard generals and its director general, Gen. Awad bin Eid Al-Balawi, who stressed that the Saudi leadership’s support for the Border Guard ensures that it is at the forefront of the world’s countries in comprehensive border security. Al-Balawi said: “The Kingdom’s geography, land and sea borders, its diverse terrain, the varying and escalating threats, and the security and political unrest in some countries have created challenges for border security.” “This has required us to prepare strategic plans according to new operational concepts based on analyzing sources of threats and dangers in order to address them efficiently,” he continued. He explained that the graduates have taken basic and specialized training courses, including two international courses: Maritime Law Enforcement Operations and Maritime Law Enforcement Trainer (train the trainer). The Border Guard chief said that 58 security inspectors have been trained, highlighting that 10 sign language courses were held to serve people with special needs, namely those who work in maritime fields, benefiting 80 trainees (men and women). Graduates gave a speech in which they pledged to protect the country’s sea and land borders. After that, the graduates performed a military parade before they swore the oath and pledged to serve their religion and country.
