Aviation experts believe they may have solved the mystery of the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 in 2014, saying the 239 passengers and crew were the victims of a deliberate, criminal act carried out by the plane’s captain. The fate of the Boeing 777 has mystified investigators ever since it went missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in 2014. A panel of experts assembled for the Australian TV program “60 Minutes” said the evidence suggests Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah executed a careful series of maneuvers to evade detection and ensure the plane disappeared in a remote location, the Daily Telegraph reported. Former Australia Transport Safety Bureau head Martin Dolan, who led the two-year search, stated that the search for the missing plane at sea and under water was one of the biggest operations in aviation history. After the initial 52-day sea-level search failed, the research teams conducted ocean floor searches, eventually excluding more than 120,000 square kilometers of research. In 2015 and 2016, debris suspected from the Malaysian aircraft was found on the shores of islands in the Indian Ocean and the eastern coast of Africa. In their report, investigators determined the planes location, after analyzing the debris and satellite data, however, the aircraft has not been found.
