He stressed that the holy month of Ramadan is a month of mercy and forgiveness, adding that Saudi Arabia is honored to serve the two holy mosques in addition to pilgrims, visitors and Umrah performers. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, since its establishment by late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, have worked to maintain the bright image of Islam and serve the interests of Muslims and Islamic causes,” he said. “When the phenomenon of terrorism emerged, targeting the entire world, the Kingdom worked, and is still working, with all of its potentials, political weight and international position, to combat extremism and terrorism," he added. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stresses through all international platforms that extremism and terrorism do not belong to any religion, civilization, nation, race or culture.” “The Kingdom seeks to address any threat against the security and stability in the world through holding coalitions with peace-loving states and establishing an international center, the first of its kind, to confront extremist ideology and enhance coexistence among the peoples of the world," he continued. Later on Wednesday, King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, sent cables of congratulations on the advent of Ramadan to a number of Kings, Presidents and Emirs of Islamic countries. They also received cables of congratulations from Islamic countries on the same occasion.
