RIYADH: The secretariat of the Saudi National Committee for Narcotics Control announced the launch of a drugs awareness competition that will take place next month. The prize, which aims to raise media awareness of drugs, will exceed SR2 million in its inaugural edition. The competition will have two streams- one for individuals and another for companies. Both streams will have 4 sub categories: best awareness video, best awareness infographic design, best awareness drawing, and best awareness photo. Each category will have ten winners. The secretariat of the National Committee for Narcotics Control’s spokesman Bandar Abdullah Al-Rumaihi added that this competition aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and the psychological effects on individuals and society. Al-Rumaihi also said that the competition aims to enhance cooperation between society and advocates of drug prevention. Individuals, companies and associations that specialize in the awareness of prevention and the dangers of addiction can participate in the competition. Participation in the competition is not limited to citizens and expats can take part too.
