DUBAI: The team behind the soon-to-be-released “Mission: Impossible Fallout” movie just tweeted an impressive video of exactly what superstar Tom Cruise was doing in the Abu Dhabi desert earlier this year. While filming in the UAE in March, Cruise completed a HALO jump — a high altitude, low opening jump — a move typically used by the military when forces want to parachute behind enemy lines undetected. In the video, the team behind the shoot explain that they had just three minutes to get the perfect shot every day, since the stunt had to take place while the sun was setting. Cruise jumped from 7,620 meters and then deployed the chute below 610 meters and it took more than 100 jumps to get the sequence just right. Cruise appears in the video, saying: “We needed the UAE. Had they not stepped in, we would not have been able to accomplish this sequence.”
