Governor of Yemen’s Hadramout province Major General Faraj al-Bahsani disclosed on Wednesday that the Yemeni army has thwarted an al-Qaeda terrorist plot in the city of al-Mukalla. In a statement to the Yemeni army’s September Net website, al-Bahsani, who also commands the 2nd military zone, said a raid on the hideout of terrorists resulted in the confiscation of 28 explosive devices, two large explosive belts, two thermal missiles, three C4 high-explosive material, and a big quantity of ammunition. The terrorists were plotting a major attack at several sites across al-Mukalla, which lies southeast of Hadramout province, he said. “The (seized) materials are capable of causing great destruction at any target site,” the governor added.
