The Israeli army killed on Monday a Palestinian and injured four others after they tried to approach the border fence, meanwhile, another Palestinian died from a sustained injury. An Israeli military statement described them as “five terrorists who tried to sabotage the (border) security infrastructure”. Spokesman of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Ashraf al-Qadra said that Sabri Abu Khader, 24, arrived dead at Shifa Hospital, after occupation forces shot him, and four others were wounded. An Israeli army spokesman said five Palestinians tried to approach a military facility near a military site, east of Gaza. The army shot the group, detonating an explosive device in their possession and injuring a number of them. The army stressed that it will not tolerate any infiltration attempts from Gaza Strip. This was followed by an announcement of the Ministry of Health in Gaza on the death of 13-year-old Zakaria Beshbesh, who was injured in a protest along the border. Israeli warplanes launched nine air strikes by on al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas movement, deep inside the Gaza Strip, and bombed Badri and al-Safina sites northwest of Gaza City and Tel Zaatar site north the Strip. No injuries were reported. Palestinian factions responded quickly by launching three rockets at settlements adjacent to Gaza. However, one of the rockets landed in Gaza, while two rockets landed in open areas in the Ashkelon beaches, without any reported casualties. On Monday, Israeli military said it had attacked nine Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, including military compounds and weapons production facilities, late Sunday night. Three rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward Israel early on Monday morning, with one of them landing in the Gaza Strip, shortly afterward. The Israeli army said that the attack was carried out in response to the firing of kites and explosive devices into Israel, as well as to an attempt to infiltrate into Israel. Several Hebrew media outlets have revealed differences between the political and military officials over dealing with flaming kites. During the meeting of the cabinet, Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot and senior army officials rejected the demands of some ministers to kill or assassinate kite launchers. In other news, a number of unknown men in civilian clothes assaulted citizens who took part in a rally headed by the Prisoners and ex-prisoners Committee and factions in the Strip. The protesters included representatives of prisoners, journalists, employees, and representatives of the national action and civil society organizations from all the provinces. The protest called for national unity and demanded the abolition of punitive measures imposed on the Gaza Strip by the Palestinian Authority (PA). Fatah accused Hamas security services of suppressing the protest after it forced a number of its members to attack the march, and chanted slogans against Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Wafa news agency reported the protest was initially done to reject what they described as "Hamas coup" and demand ending the division.
