Tunisia and the Arab world’s hopes in the World Cup were dashed on Saturday after it suffered a thumping 2-5 defeat to Belgium at Moscow’s Spartak Stadium. Tunisia joined Egypt, Morocco and Saudi Arabia in exiting the tournament in the group stage. Belgium, meanwhile, moved to the brink of the last 16 as Romelu Lukaku scored twice to join Cristiano Ronaldo on four goals for the tournament. Lukakus double was the first time that a player has scored two or more goals in consecutive World Cup games since Argentine great Diego Maradona achieved the feat in 1986. Eden Hazard also netted twice and Michy Batshuayi put the cherry on the cake with the fifth as a team rated as dark horses for the title showed their pedigree. Tunisias consolation goals came from defender Dylan Bronn and captain Wahbi Khazri. Belgium’s victory came at a cost however, as Lukaku is rated doubtful with an ankle injury, but Hazard should recover from a calf knock. Next up for the Belgians is a blockbuster clash with England on Thursday that is likely to decide who finishes top of Group G, providing England beat Panama on Sunday. "We need to look at Lukakus ankle. He took a knock and has to be assessed," said coach Roberto Martinez. “Dries Mertens has an ankle problem. There will be major changes against England.” "If we could have seven days to prepare, Id say wed start with the same team, but the reality is that you are only as good as the 23 players." Hazard said Belgium want to go all the way to the final after Saturday’s victory. Having lost to Argentina in the quarter-finals at the last World Cup, Hazard says Belgium are a better team than four years ago and are targeting the final in Russia. "We are a good team, we want to reach the final and we are stronger than four years ago," said the Chelsea star and Belgium captain.
