RIYADH: The General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection (GAMEP) on Sunday marked World Environment Day 2018 at its headquarters in Jeddah. The theme for this year is “Overcoming plastic pollution.” GAMEP President Khalil Al-Thaqafi attended the event, which was celebrated simultaneously in 10 regions across the Kingdom. GAMEP Deputy President Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari said the Kingdom is taking all measures to protect the environment and for the conservation of its resources. The annual report of the authority was also released on the occasion, which outlined the achievements and initiatives of the authority.
