Saudi King, Crown Prince Congratulate Turkish President on Election Success

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz sent a cable of congratulations to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the occasion of his re-election as president for a new term. The Custodian congratulated the Turkish President on Monday wishing him and all Turkish people further progress and prosperity, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The King praised the brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Turkey and their brotherly peoples. For his part, President Erdogan thanked and expressed his gratitude to King Salmans sincere brotherly sentiments towards the Turkish people. Also, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, also sent a cable of congratulations to the Turkish President on the occasion of his re-election. On Sunday, Turkish voters, had for the first time, cast ballots for both presidential and parliamentary elections. Later, President of the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey, Sadi Guven declared Erdogan the official winner of Sundays election after counting 91.9 percent of the votes. Erdogan won 52.5 percent in the presidential poll while his nearest rival Muharrem Ince, of the secular Republican Peoples Party (CHP), was on 31.5 percent, state-run Anadolu news agency said, based on a 99 percent vote count. The electoral council will later announce the final results on 29th of June.
