(SPA) Updated 17 sec ago Arab News June 30, 2018 00:52 0 Companies were introduced to updates on the development and investment environment in the Kingdom and investment opportunities in the civil aviation sector The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), in cooperation with the Saudi-Arabian Business Council, discussed investment opportunities in the Kingdom at a round-table meeting with major American civil aviation companies. More than 50 representatives of relevant administrations in the authority — including airports, communications and information technology, economic policies and air transport — along with the Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation also took part in the meeting. The Chairman of GACA, Abdul-Hakim Al-Tamimi, reviewed investment opportunities in the aviation sector and air transport in the Kingdom, and highlighted the increase in air traffic in Saudi Arabia. Infrastructure projects included airport building, construction and development, as well as airport operation and services. Al-Tamimi said the authority is working to keep up with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, to make the Kingdom an international logistical center that links three continents and receives 30 million pilgrims. Companies were introduced to updates on the development and investment environment in the Kingdom and investment opportunities in the civil aviation sector in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, including the privatization opportunities the authority is working on. Al-Tamimi also met officials from the aviation companies and examined the cooperation means to operate direct flights from and to the US. The chairman spoke with the CEO of Cohen Group, William Cohen, and discussed potential opportunities in consultancy services related to civil aviation in the Kingdom.
