Updated 20 sec ago Arab News July 03, 2018 20:21 132 The ministry said that they seized the boat after surveying the coasts north of Farasan Island The eggs were handed to officials at the Saudi Wildlife Authority to return them back to their habitat JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has seized a fishing boat carrying 248 eggs of seabirds, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday. The boat, skippered by its owner and another person, was seized by the ministry"s directorate off the coast of Jazan province, along with the Saudi Wildlife Authority in the Farasan Island"s governorate. The seizure included 80 eggs for Galilean birds, 160 eggs for the Sterna paradisaea birds, and 8 eggs belonging to the gulls species. They were captured from their nests in the island of Mount Abu Hamad, one of the islands located in the archipelago of the Farasan Islands.
