US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in the North Korean capital on Friday. Pompeo was met at the Pyongyang airport by Kim Yong Chol, a senior ruling party official and former intelligence chief, and Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho. This marks his first trip to Pyongyang since President Donald Trumps summit with leader Kim Jong Un last month. "Todays meeting is a really meaningful meeting," Kim Yong Chol told Pompeo. "Yes I agree," Pompeo answered. "I look forward to it and I count on it being very productive." Pompeo said he was seeking to "fill in" some details on North Koreas commitments and maintain the momentum towards implementing the agreement from the summit, Reuters reported. He would try to agree on at least an initial list of nuclear sites, US intelligence officials told Reuters. Also high on the agenda is the issue of the remains of US soldiers missing from the 1950-53 Korean War. Trump said after the Singapore summit that Kim had agreed to send the remains back to the United States. According to AP, both sides have suggested Pyongyang is willing to turn over dozens if not hundreds of sets of remains. "If theyre serious, then we can get down to the business of defining the terms of final denuclearisation," said one of the officials.
