Saudi Arabia Underlines Sovereignty of Nations, Condemns Foreign Meddling

Saudi Arabia underscored on Tuesday the sovereignty of nations, while condemning meddling in their internal affairs. The Saudi cabinet stressed the need to stand firmly against any country that destabilizes the stability of the region. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet session that was held in Jeddah. Commenting on the recent visit to Saudi Arabia by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, the gatherers underlined the importance of joint work to develop ties with the African nation to include greater sectors. The ministers tackled the recent developments in the Palestinian territories, Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, while stressing the need to exert more joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism. The King hailed the recent two-day International Conference of Muslim Scholars on Peace and Stability in Afghanistan that was hosted by the Kingdom last week. The meeting stated that dialogue was the best way to end the conflict in Afghanistan between the government and Taliban. The cabinet praised last week’s 8th Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum that was hosted by Beijing. It highlighted the meeting’s contribution to deepening and strengthening Arab-Chinese cooperation and friendship. It also welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s announcement to establish an Arab-Chinese strategic partnership. Furthermore, the cabinet strongly condemned the suicide attacks that took place in Pakistan and Afghanistan, saying that Riyadh stands by them in their battle against terrorism and extremism.
