162,159 Pilgrims Arrive in Madinah

As many as 162,159 pilgrims from Turkey, Indonesia, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan have arrived in Madinah as of Sunday, revealed the Pilgrim-Guide National Foundation in the holy city, reported the Saudi Press Agency. A total of 24,450 pilgrims from India, Pakistan and Nigeria are expected to arrive on Tuesday. Chairman of the Pilgrim-Guide National Foundation Hatem Bali said that the organization intensified its capacity and efforts to serve pilgrims from the moment of their arrival and until their departure from Madinah. On Sunday, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Circumambulators Foundation of Pilgrims of Turkey and Muslims of Europe, America and Australia, Tariq bin Mohammed Ankawi, received in Makkah the first batch of Turkish pilgrims who came to perform the annual Hajj rituals. The first batch consisted of 165 pilgrims. The Turkish Consul General thanked the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the services being provided for pilgrims since their arrival and until their departure. He highlighted that the mega projects in the Two Holy Mosques and holy sites contribute to facilitating the performance of Hajj rituals in an atmosphere of safety, tranquility and comfort. He praised the cooperation and constant coordination with the Turkish foundation, which is keen to overcome all obstacles that may face more than 80,000 Turkish pilgrims this year. He also praised the care and attention being provided by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for pilgrims.
