Saudi Vision 2030 has sparked a boom in interior design spend across the Kingdom — with Saudi Arabia’s décor and fit-out market now worth more than SR11 billion ($2.9 billion) a year. A study commissioned by INDEX Saudi — a new interior design exhibition just announced to be taking place in Riyadh this October — found that the Kingdom’s mammoth, growing expenditure on infrastructure and real estate is helping skyrocket the value of the region’s interiors industry. In the last year alone, Saudi’s interior design market has grown to be worth 32 percent of the entire fit-out expenditure across the Middle East. INDEX Saudi will gather hundreds of international product manufacturers and interior design firms at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. The show is expected to attract thousands of interior designers, architects, project managers and retail buyers. Jaafar Shubber, INDEX Saudi event director, said: “The region — Saudi in particular — will invest vast amounts of money across new and redevelopment construction and fit-out projects in the next decade, across all sectors: Hospitality, commercial real estate, retail, health and hospitals, and education. It’s hugely exciting.”
