This is the third British death at the Egyptian resort in the last week An investigation has been launched by the British holiday giant Thomas Cook DUBAI: A British tourist has died when the banana boat she was riding flipped over at the Red Sea resort, Steigenberger Aqua Magic Hotel, the same venue where a couple died last month, London daily Evening Standard reported. An unnamed witness, who was on the same boat, said people were thrown off the inflatable when it flipped over, leaving one woman trapped underneath the report added. “I could hear the woman’s daughter wailing as she knew there was something seriously wrong with her mom,” he said. The victim, said to be in her 50s, was pulled out from the water and attempts were made to revive her. The woman’s death comes just days after British couple, John and Susan Cooper died of “unknown causes” at the same hotel, after which Thomas Cook relocated 300 guests. A Thomas Cook spokesman confirmed the latest fatality. "We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family and our welfare team to continue to do all they can to support them at this time,” the spokesman added. The spokesman said the incidents were under investigation. He added: “The safety of our customers is our priority. We’d never send customers to a hotel we don’t believe to be safe.”
