Dr. Yahya bin Junaid is the head of the Center for Research and Intercommunication Knowledge. He is a writer and scholar of Islamic libraries, and former head librarian of King Fahd Library in Riyadh.  He worked as a professor of library science at the Department of Libraries at the Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, and as editor-in-chief of several publications. He was elected to the Saudi Shoura Council between 1997 and 2000, a member of the board of trustees of the King Fahd National Library and a member of the advisory board of Al-Dera’iyah magazine. Junaid was born in Makkah, Saudi Arabia in 1947. He graduated from the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts, King Saud University, in 1969.  He was awarded a master’s degree in libraries and information from the University of Missouri, US in 1976, and a doctorate degree in libraries and documents from the University of Cairo in 1983. Junaid has authored more than 60 works on the history of libraries, Islamic civilization and cultural endowments.  He won the King Faisal International Prize in 1998 in the Islamic studies category. On Tuesday he met with the head of the political section of the Chinese Embassy in Saudi Arabia, Li Yu Jing Yong. The Chinese diplomat highlighted the interest of the embassy and scientific and academic institutions in China in the activities of the center.
