JEDDAH: Planet Soap is a burgeoning company in Jeddah that offers soaps made with natural ingredients. But what sets it apart from other soap companies is the creative artistic twist in its products. Cartoon, animated and other pop culture characters are all molded into different shapes. Its stitch ball soaps have proven very popular among children: Translucent soap balls that contain a mini caricature toy that can only be obtained once the soap ball has been fully dissolved. An alternate style of their popular stitch ball soaps includes popular video game merchandise such as the Keyblade from Disney’s “Kingdom of Hearts,” as well as the caricature Link from the popular video game “The Legend of Zelda.” Other artsy creations that Planet Soap has produced include popular superheroes from DC and Marvel Comics such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the Incredible Hulk. It has also produced a variety of Pokemon characters in soap form, Star Wars artifacts, and an assortment of donut-shaped soaps that are complete with faux icing and sprinkles. Its soap bars and other products are all hand-made, using only the highest quality essential oils and natural colors, as well as activated charcoal which has been known to tighten one’s pores, treat acne, and offer a soothing deep cleanse. Planet Soap’s products are a business idea that came from sales associate Lena Abulaynain’s love of pop culture, video games, and handmade cosmetics. By combining both niche markets, Planet Soap’s products have been popular with both children and adults alike. Its products have been featured at Comic Con Arabia last year in Riyadh and at Saudi Comic Con expo in Jeddah last March.
