The leader of Lebanons “Hezbollah”, Hassan Nasrallah, boasted Thursday the group now possesses "highly accurate" missiles, hours after announcing that his group will keep its fighters in Syria. Speaking during a traditional televised speech at the end of Ashoura, Nasrallah also mentioned Lebanons government crisis, saying despite warnings about the country’s dire economic situation and calls for the swift formation of the cabinet, the deadlock continues. But he said that “the government would eventually be formed.” “No one can eliminate the other,” he added. Describing the political scene as “tense,” Nasrallah called for calm and dialogue. Boasting about his group’s capabilities, the “Hezbollah” chief said: “If Israel imposes war on Lebanon, Israel will face a destiny and reality it didnt expect any day.” His speech was broadcast on a large screen to supporters in Beiruts southern suburbs. His comments prompted a reply from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who warned the “Hezbollah” leader that "if he confronts us, he will receive a lethal blow that he cant even imagine." Commenting on the Israeli strikes in Syria’s Latakia late Monday, Nasrallah has denied the target was a shipment of weapons heading to “Hezbollah.” The Israeli military believes “Hezbollah” has between 100,000 and 120,000 short-range missiles and rockets, as well as several hundred longer-range missiles. In a similar televised speech on Monday, Nasrallah said despite the calm prevailing on different front lines in Syria, “Hezbollah” will keep its fighters in the neighboring country. The “Hezbollah” secretary-general also welcomed a Russian-Turkey agreement signed on Monday in Sochi, Russia, calling it a "step on the road to making a political solution possible."
