Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday that three Saudi men accused of terrorism were killed on Wednesday after security personnel spotted them in a house located in the neighborhood of Al-Kuwaikeb in the center of Al Qatif, east the country. The official spokesman of the State Security Presidency said Thursday the three men resisted arrest and had exchanged fire with security personnel. In return, three members of the Saudi security forces suffered light injuries. However, the spokesman said no other resident of the building or passersby were hurt due to the intensive firing from inside the place towards the street. The three killed “are linked to the terror incidents that happened in Qatif,” he said, according to the Saudi Press Agency. Explaining how the three men were found and then killed last Wednesday, the spokesman said that as a result of security strict monitoring and following-up of those wanted to justice for being involved in terror incidents which took place in Qatif Province, Eastern Region earlier, the concerned authorities at the State Security Presidency were able to pinpoint three of the security wanted as taking refuge in a house located in Al-Kuwaikeb neighborhood, in central Al-Qatif Province. After having besieged the site, the security men called on the wanted to surrender. “Instead,” he said, “they started to intensively fire at the security men, slightly injuring three of them, and exposing the safety of residents of the building and passersby to danger, forcing the security men to act accordingly and reciprocally, a decisive act resulting in the killing of three men.” All three are Saudi nationals — Muhammad Hassan Ahmad Al- Zayed, Mufeed Hamza Ali Al-Olwan and Khaleel Ibrahim Hassan Al-Muslim.
