LONDON: The Saudi Athletics Athletics team on Tuesday won five medals — three silver and two bronze — at the Asian Para Games in the Indonesia capital, Jakarta. Hani Al-Nakhli got the ball rolling by winning silver in the shot putt, throwing an impressive 9:37 meters. That great start to the day was quickly followed up by Noor Al-Sanea, who won silver in the 200 meters T44 in a great time of 24.10 seconds. Ali Al-Nakhli added the third medal with bronze in the 100 meters, having registered a time of 12:01 seconds. Ahmed Adawi then claimed his second medal of the Games with silver in the T42 100 meters in 14,40 seconds, while Fahad Al-Junaidel won the bronze medal in the 100-meter wheelchair. Those triumphs took Saudi Arabia’s medal tally in Indonesia to six golds, three silvers and one bronze, to leave them 19th in the medal table. For his part, the deputy head of the delegation of the Kingdom of Para Asian Games, Abdullah Al-Muqrin, expressed his happiness with the achievements of the Saudi team so far, stressing that the great work provided by all the technical, medical and administrative bodies and officials of the Paralympic Committee.
