Saudi General Culture Authority takes part in Malmo Arab Film Festival

JEDDAH: The General Culture Authority (GCA), represented by the Saudi Film Council, participated in the eighth edition of the Malmo Arab Film Festival, which was held from Oct. 5 to 9 in Sweden. The festival featured a special celebration of the Kingdom’s film industry, with a showing of 10 Saudi films.  “Wasati,” directed by Ali Kalthami, “The Bliss of Being No One,” directed by Badr Al-Homoud, and “Aatour,” directed by Hussein Al-Mutlaq, participated in the festival’s official competition.  Effat University participated with seven films and discussion panels attended by its best female students. The festival program featured meetings between Saudi Film Council CEO Faisal Baltyour and the heads of the Swedish Film Institute and some of the festival’s eminent guests.  These meetings discussed the Saudi film industry and the opportunities it has to offer investors.
