Princess Haifa Al-Faisal is the founder and chairwoman of the Zahra Breast Cancer Association and a social activist. The Zahra Breast Cancer Association was established in 2007. Princess Haifa is also a member of the founders’ council and the trustees’ council of Effat University for females in Jeddah. She is a member of the board of trustees at King Faisal Foundation and the board of directors of ADHD organization “Ishraq.” In addition, she was the president of the Mosaic Club for wives of ambassadors in Washington for 10 years between 1995 and 2005. She was born in 1950. Princess Haifa is the daughter of late King Faisal, and the wife of Prince Bandar bin Sultan, the former director general of the Saudi Intelligence Agency. The goal of Zahra Breast Cancer Association goal is to increase and spread awareness among women across Saudi Arabia for early detection, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. The association also cooperates with women diagnosed with breast cancer on a step-by-step basis for treatment and ultimate recovery. The association is a member of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), Gulf Union Against Cancer, and the coalition of non-governmental organizations for combating cancer in the Eastern Mediterranean countries. Princess Haifa Al-Faisal participated in the“Walk for Her” initiative on Friday, a marathon, which aimed at raising awareness about the early detection of breast cancer. A number of volunteers including Samer Ibrahim Kurdi, chairman of the Sunbulah Group took part in the event. Princess Haifa praised the initiative saying, “The slogan ‘Walk for Her’... reflects the value of social responsibility programs.”
