Jordan’s King Abdullah II received in Amman on Monday US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. King Abdullah emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between the two countries and lauded the US support to Jordan. For his part, Mnuchin underlined the important role played by Jordan in the Middle East. He commended the Kingdom for hosting the Syrian refugees, and said the US will continue to support Jordan in various areas. King Abdullah and Mnuchin also reviewed economic cooperation between their two countries and the challenges Jordan is facing due to regional crises. They discussed economic programs and schemes to boost growth, provide employment opportunities and bolster the capacity of the economy to better confront with different challenges.
