Khartoum will host on November 29 a meeting for the neighbors of Libya that will also be attended by the Arab League and European Union representatives. France will also participate in the summit as an observer. Sudanese Foreign Minister El-Dirdeiry Mohammed Ahmed announced Wednesday that he discussed peace efforts in the Central African Republic with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian. The Sudanese minister is on a European tour that saw him visit France. It also includes stops in Germany, Belgium and Britain. Ahmed told France 24 television that the Libya meeting is aimed at studying the impact the Libyan crisis is having on its neighbors. He added that Khartoum will also send invitations to Italy to attend. He also addressed the current dialogue between Khartoum and Washington aimed at removing Sudan off the list of state-sponsors of terrorism. The United States lifted last year sanctions against Sudan, 20 years after imposing them. Ahmed said that his trip to London is part of the strategic dialogue that is taking place between Khartoum and Washington.
