The King Abdullah Center for Petroleum Studies and Research (KAPSARC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) on bolstering cooperation in the energy sector, reported the Saudi Press Agency Sunday. The MoU aims at strengthening the research partnership in the electric power sector and developing researches that affect the efficiency of the electricity markets in the GCC countries. The deal was signed on the sidelines of Saudi Arabia Smart Grid and Sustainable Energy Conference and Exhibition that was recently held in Jeddah. The agreement will also include research, seminars and studies in the field of development and establishment of a joint GCC market for electrical energy.
