Syria has been pressuring Lebanon to release Hannibal Gaddafi, the son of the late Libyan leader, informed sources told Asharq Al-Awsat. Hannibal, 43, has been detained by the Lebanese security forces since December 10, 2015. The sources said that the Syrian regime submitted a strongly-worded letter to Lebanese authorities, saying that his detention was not justified, especially since it has become clear that he had no information on the disappearance of Imam Moussa al-Sadr in Libya in 1978.
