Fayez Al-Shehri has been a Shoura Council member since January 2013. He headed a council delegation that embarked on an official visit to Georgia on Thursday and met with officials at the Parliament, the Saudi-Georgian Friendship Committee, and Parliament’s economic affairs committee. Al-Shehri received his bachelor’s degree in security sciences from King Fahd Security College. He has a master’s degree in information resources and electronic news, and a Ph.D. in electronic journalism from Sheffield University in the UK. Al-Shehri is director of the Research and Studies Center, and of the Public Relations Department at King Fahd Security College. He is a lecturer in electronic media at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and King Saud University. He also lectures at multiple scientific and training institutions on the use of the internet. He is an adviser to the International Conference on Solidarity against Terrorism, the Arab Gulf Program for UN Development Organizations, and the Interactive Services Project for the Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting Service. Al-Shehri is editor-in-chief of Security Research Magazine, and has founded a number of news websites. He is involved in many associations, including the International Association of Internet Professionals in Virginia, the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication in California, and the International Communication Association in Washington.
