Egypt’s Grand Mufti Dr. Shawki Allam held talks in Cairo on Monday with Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, reported the Saudi Press Agency. Allam hailed Saudi Arabias participation in the 29th Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, which was organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments and concluded its activities Sunday. He stressed that the Kingdom, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, has long served the interests of Muslims based on the noble message adopted by its leaders. He stressed that Egypt and Saudi Arabia are active in promoting guidance and the truth and their leaderships and peoples are working on stabilizing the entire region. Moreover, Allam reiterated Egypt’s condemnation of attempts to politicize the Hajj, highlighting the Kingdom’s success in organizing the annual pilgrimage, as well as the Umrah. For his part, Sheikh praised the strong and solid relationship between Riyadh and Cairo. He stressed that Egypt and Saudi Arabia are united in serving Islam and Muslims across the world.
