A Tunisian mother has sought help for her super-intelligent son who has been dismissed from many schools because of his ability to absorb lessons in no time. The condition of the nine-year-old boy has confused the authorities amid the lack of laws regulating such cases or individuals requiring special education. The story of the child has made headlines in the local media outlets and social networking sites, which hcalled for a solution that allows the young boy to receive education normally. The students mother told "Shams FM": "My son is not studying at any school now. His super intelligence has made him an unwelcomed student in public schools. So far he has studied in 12 schools with excellent results, but he was dismissed from all of them.” “The schools never gave a clear justification for their decision, but they told me I should find a solution for his case. I insisted on keeping him in school many times, which put him under a great pressure. He cannot handle this situation anymore," the German news agency quoted her as saying. According to the mother, the daily homework given by the teachers have nothing new to offer to her son. He needs one week to absorb what other students study in months. "The teachers admitted that they often had to lower his high grades," the mother said. There are no laws that grant special rights for pupils with such cases, but the authorities are considering to address the problem under a temporary law aimed at caring for children with disabilities or those with physical and mental problems. "The ministry is preparing a bill to regulate the cases of talented and highly qualified students and will submit it in the right time," said Elham Barboura, head of the school integration department at the Ministry of Education.
