More than 3.2 million Umrah visas issued so far

JEDDAH: The number of Umrah visas issued this year has reached 3,270,164, of which 2,791,438 pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom, according to data provided by the Hajj and Umrah Ministry. There are 449,770 pilgrims still in the Kingdom, with 321,006 in Makkah and 128,764 in Madinah. Most pilgrims — 2,478,416 — came to the Kingdom by air, while 294,572 entered by land and 18,450 arrived by sea. The largest number of pilgrims are from Pakistan (729,117) followed by Indonesia (478,513), India (325,838), Yemen (158,453), Malaysia (151,458), Turkey (109,049), Egypt (102,479), Algeria (98,636) and Bangladesh (69,045). The weekly data also included the number of Saudi staff within Umrah companies and institutions. They are 10,020 Saudis including 8,293 males and 1,727 females. Developing Hajj and Umrah organizations and services in the Kingdom is among the top priorities of the Saudi government. The Vision 2030 reform plan aims to attract more than 30 million Umrah pilgrims, and provide them with excellent services and an outstanding experience.
