Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz inaugurated on Tuesday four massive entertainment projects in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, worth 86 billion riyals ($23 billion). The Green Riyadh projects include a park, sports track and an art center. A presentation about the projects was delivered to King Salman by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. The projects seek to take advantage of the green spaces in Riyadh by establishing one of the largest city gardens in the world. The projects will see the planting of over 7.5 million trees throughout the capital, reported the Saudi Press Agency. A number of museums, theaters, art academies and cinema halls will be constructed in order to transform Riyadh into an arts and culture hub. Residents will also be encouraged to practice sports and adopt a healthy lifestyle with the establishment of the sports track that extends from the capital’s east to its west. The projects are in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and will create some 70,000 job opportunities. They will also attract promising investments from within and outside Saudi Arabia, worth an estimated SR50 billion, in the residential, hospitality, education, health, sports, recreation and business sectors. Construction of the projects will kick off in the second half of 2019.
